IRVINE , California   ( Jul 08, 2003 ) :

Toshiba America Business Solutions (TABS) today unveiled the Toshiba e-STUDIO220P, the first introduction from Toshiba's next generation 2003 e-STUDIO workgroup printer line. Designed for personal users and small workgroups with low to mid-volume printing requirements, the e-STUDIO220P replaces Toshiba's popular workgroup printers, the e-STUDIO20P and e-STUDIO25P. Featuring standard, integrated duplexing, a robust duty cycle, flexible connectivity options and superior image quality within a compact profile, the e-STUDIO220P reflects Toshiba's commitment to delivering full-featured, powerful printing solutions unparalleled in reliability and value.

"Toshiba is dedicated to making e-STUDIO products the preferred choice for affordable and feature-rich printing solutions for diversified work environments and business application needs," said Mark Mathews, vice president, Marketing, TABS. "With the introduction of the e-STUDIO220P, Toshiba is extending the breadth of the e-STUDIO workgroup printer line to make it even more appealing from both a functional and cost standpoint. It is for this reason that the e-STUDIO line continues to garner significant recognition for offering great versatility and value."

Cost-Effective and Space-Saving Features

To promote greater efficiency and productivity in the home or corporate office, Toshiba offers the e-STUDIO220P with the first standard integrated duplexing feature available on the e-STUDIO workgroup product line to enable effortless double-sided printing. Unlike similar models in its class, the e-STUDIO220P is designed to offer integrated duplexing without the need for an additional cassette tray, providing both cost and space savings. Additionally, a small form factor and slim profile make the e-STUDIO220P the ideal desktop or versatile workgroup printer for space-constrained environments.

Impressive Speed and Image Quality

Available with a powerful 200MHz processor, the e-STUDIO220P boasts print speeds of 22 pages-per-minute (PPM) and a fast first-print-out-time (FPOT) of a mere 10 seconds, while a true 600 x 600 dpi print resolutions and enhanced 1,200 dpi image quality provide sharp, professional documents.

Versatile Standard Features and Options

Featuring a robust monthly duty cycle of 50,000 pages-per-month, the e-STUDIO220P comes standard with a 5,000-page yield starter cartridge and features an available 10,000-page high-yield replacement cartridge to reduce the need for continuous supply replacement. The e-STUDIO220P comes standard with letter and legal-sized paper handling, a built-in 250-sheet paper capacity and accommodates a variety of media types including plain paper, letterhead, envelopes, cardstock and transparencies. For added convenience, the e-STUDIO220P also includes an optional 250-sheet and 500-sheet paper drawer.

Also standard are 32 MB of RAM memory, expandable to 288 MB, PostScript 3 and PCL 6 emulations, and parallel and USB ports. An external 10/100 BaseT network-connectivity option, combined with support for a dynamic range of operating systems including Windows 9x, NT 4.0, 2000, ME and XP, Mac OS 8.6 or later and Novell Netware 3.x, 4.x and 5.x, make the e-STUDIO220P a flexible workgroup printer that can be tailored to meet a variety of targeted business needs.

The e-STUDIO220P is available through Toshiba's nationwide network of dealers for the suggested list price of $579 (USD).
