TOSHIBA AMERICA BUSINESS SOLUTIONS INTRODUCES THE NEWEST ADDITION TO ITS WORKGROUP COLOR PRINTER LINE - THE E-STUDIO™200CP

New Color Printer Offers Faster Processing and Increased Memory As Affordable Business Solution

IRVINE , California   ( Feb 17, 2004 ) :

Toshiba America Business Solutions, Inc. (TABS) today introduced the Toshiba e-STUDIO™200CP full-color and monochrome laser printer, a cost-effective business color printing solution ideal for corporate environments with mid- to high-volume workgroups needing color printing and finishing capabilities. The e-STUDIO200CP was designed as a replacement to its successful predecessor, the e-STUDIO20CP, adding a powerful 600 MHz processor with 128 MB of standard RAM. The e-STUDIO200CP delivers 20 color or monochrome pages-per-minute (PPM) with an impressive monthly duty cycle of up to 85,000 pages-per-month.

"The e-STUDIO200CP is the ideal combination of speed, reliability and excellent image quality," said Steve Rhorer, director, Product Marketing for TABS. "By serving as a workgroup's color and monochrome printer, the e-STUDIO200CP allows the cost-effective introduction of color into a company's printing environment, without compromising speed or color quality."

The e-STUDIO200CP features enhanced 2,400 dpi image quality and standard 1,200 x 1,200 dpi resolution, and includes an automatic color correction control system that produces clean, sharp text with solid and bright colors. An advanced halftone-screening method is used for improved quality over the standard 1,200 dpi output, producing excellent images and reducing the time to print by using less memory.

The e-STUDIO200CP comes standard with 128 MB of RAM, upgradeable to 512 MB for faster spooling, and offers a first-print-out-time (FPOT) of only 15 seconds for monochrome and 17.5 seconds for color prints. The e-STUDIO200CP also is able to fulfill a variety of printing solutions, offering users the ability to print on transparencies, envelopes, labels and card stock up to 90 lb. index, as well as letter and legal paper sizes with a standard 500 sheet drawer. Further enhancing the e-STUDIO200CP's paper handling are an optional 500 sheet drawer, 2,000 sheet drawer, duplex unit, 5-bin mailbox, output expander, envelope drawer and an optional 3,000 sheet finisher offering multi-position stapling, hole punch and job offset features.

Network Compatibility

To meet the growing demand of connectivity in the business environment, the e-STUDIO200CP comes standard with a 10/100BaseT network interface and a USB connection. To accommodate mobile office users, an 802.11b wireless option also is available. The e-STUDIO200CP is compatible with all major network operating systems, including Windows 98 SE, NT4.0, 2000, ME, XP, Novell Netware 3x, 4x, 5x, 6x and Mac O/S 8.6 or later.

The e-STUDIO200CP is available through Toshiba's nationwide network of dealers for the suggested list price of $2,339 (USD).

Rounding out Toshiba's line of color printers are the e-STUDIO280CP and the e-STUDIO6CP. Designed for corporate environments with high-volume color printing needs, the newly introduced e-STUDIO280CP is the flagship model of Toshiba's workgroup color printer line, offering a 100,000 monthly duty cycle and 28 color/monochrome PPM with an MSRP of $4,499. The e-STUDIO6CP was designed to meet the needs of medium-volume workgroups and network-connected small offices, providing a 35,000 monthly duty cycle and six color PPM at an MSRP of $2,269.
