Compact Multifunction Digital Document Imaging Systems Designed for Small Businesses and Executive Offices

Toshiba America Business Solutions, Inc. (TABS) today introduced the Toshiba e-STUDIO™162/162D digital multifunction device series, designed to meet the needs of small businesses, executive offices and small workgroups. Featuring a compact tabletop design, the e-STUDIO162 and 162D offer a print speed of 16 pages-per-minute (PPM), high 600dpi image quality, copy functionality and color scanning right out of the box with optional Network Printing/Scanning and Facsimile capabilities.

Copying and Printing Capabilities
Toshiba's new e-STUDIO162 and 162D deliver a quick first-copy-out-time (FCOT) of 9.6 seconds with a fast warm-up time of 30 seconds. Supporting a maximum paper size of 8.5" x 14" (legal), the e-STUDIO162/162D comes standard with a 250-sheet cassette and a 50-sheet multi-bypass tray. Both units can be upgraded with a second 250-sheet cassette and 30-sheet Auto Document Feeder or a Reverse Auto Document Feeder ("D" version only) and boast a monthly duty cycle of 15,000.
Digital copying features include Scan Once Print Many (SOPM), Electronic Sort and Offset Stacking for maximum efficiency. Full color scanning capabilities and the system's easy-to-manage Desktop Document Manger and Button Manager means converting hard copy documents into electronic form for paperless distribution or archive purposes is simple. Further customization is achieved with a zoom ratio range of 25 to 400 percent.
The yield of the toner in the e-STUDIO162/162D is rated at 8,000 and 25,000 impressions for the developer and drum respectively, with easy end user replaceable toner cartridges that save valuable machine downtime. The machine's first preventive maintenance is scheduled at 25,000 impressions, ensuring maximum reliability.
The print function of the e-STUDIO162/162D offers users the ability to print to the unit via a standard parallel or USB GDI print driver. The e-STUDIO162/162D series supports Windows 95, 98, Me, NT4.0, 2000, and XP client operating systems.
Custom Tailoring for Optimum Performance
Businesses can customize the e-STUDIO162/162D to suit their own particular needs with a series of optional accessories. Built-in fax capability can be achieved by adding the optional Super G3 Fax kit, which offers 33.6Kbps modem speed, three-second transmission, 2MB of memory and 118 auto-dial destinations.
Shipped with a standard bi-directional parallel port and USB 2.0 connection, the optional Network Print/Scan Kit offers 200MHz-processing speed, 64MB of RAM (upgradeable to 320MB), and PCL6 printing and network capabilities. In addition, a PostScript 3 emulation is available for MacOS users.
The e-STUDIO162 and 162D are now available through Toshiba's nationwide network of dealers for the suggested list price of $1,495 and $1,695 (USD) respectfully, and are backed by TABS' Total Quality Commitment (TQC).
