TABS Wins Four Prominent Business Education Awards For Best Practices in Employee Training

Toshiba America Business Solutions Inc. (TABS) today announced that its dealer training programs have been awarded four separate awards for outstanding innovations in employee training and education. The awards, which were presented over the past two months, include accolades from Chief Learning Officer (CLO) magazine, the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD), the United States Distance Learning Association (USDLA) and Human Resources IQ / International Quality and Productivity Center (IQPC).

CLO magazine’s “Learning in Practice Award” — TABS was selected from more than 120 nominees in the Learning Innovation category, receiving a Gold award for its dedication to employee development as demonstrated by its Training To Go (TTG) program.

ASTD’s “BEST Award” — ASTD recognized TABS for the second consecutive year, selecting the company as a recipient of the award after receiving nearly 100 nominations from organizations worldwide. The “BEST Awards” recognize organizations that demonstrate enterprise-wide success as a result of employee learning and development.

USDLA’s “Distance Learning Award” — This award recognizes instructors, programs and distance leaning professionals for major accomplishments in distance learning. TABS received the bronze for Excellence in Programming resulting from its successful Dimension 1 online training program.

Human Resources IQ / IQPC’s “CUBIC Award” — TABS was awarded an honorable mention in the CUBIC (Corporate University Best In Class) awards program in the category of Best Overall Corporate University. The category recognizes organizations that align learning programs with the corporate business strategy, demonstrate enculturation of learning throughout the company and show a positive ROI or cost savings.

Earlier in 2005, TABS also received a “StevieTM” Award in the category of Best Sales Trainer in the 2005 American Business AwardsSM program. As the 2005 Best Sales Trainer honoree, Codianni was recognized for the development of his innovative Special Weekly Acquisition Training (S.W.A.T.) program, designed to quickly train new TABS dealers on Toshiba’s extensive product line.
