IRVINE , California ( Jul 24, 2006 ) :
Toshiba America Business Solutions Inc. (TABS) today announced the launch of the e-STUDIO™3510c color multifunction product (MFP). Joining the other systems in the e-STUDIO2500c/3500c product series, which were announced in May, the e-STUDIO3510c provides users with a faster monochrome output speed of an impressive 45 pages per minute (PPM). Designed for color-intensive workgroups, the e-STUDIO3510c offers similar running costs, performance and the same functionality as black and white multifunction systems, with a minimum hardware price premium.
“The addition of the e-STUDIO3510c to our color product lineup gives customers an additional choice when selecting an output device to meet their specific workflow requirements,” said Kay Fernandez, director, Product and Solutions Marketing. “Like the e-STUDIO2500c and 3500c, the e-STUDIO3510c is the ideal fit for any color user focusing on image quality, total cost of ownership and overall system performance.”
Uncompromising Performance, Sharp Image Quality
Like the e-STUDIO2500c/3500c, the e-STUDIO3510c makes no compromises when it comes to performance, offering a 99-second warm-up time and a color first copy out time (FCOT) of just 8.6 seconds. In addition, the e-STUDIO3510c features a monochrome FCOT of 5.2 seconds and a color output speed of 35 PPM.
Image quality also takes center stage with true 600 x 600 dpi output and the latest Fiery® technology. The overall color superiority is supported by several new proprietary Toshiba technologies, including
- Intermediate Transfer Belt Color Processing Unit – The e-STUDIO3510c adopts Toshiba’s intermediate transfer belt system, which is independent of paper movement. This provides better color registration, less misalignment of motors and improves drum rotation accuracy.
- Toshiba 6.8 Micron Toner – Toshiba has introduced low temperature fusing color toner with smaller (6.8 micron) particles. The new toner ensures excellent, smooth reproduction of photos and halftones, and superior color fidelity and quality.
- High Precision Micro-discrimination – This Toshiba technology automatically distinguishes between text, graphics and line art on the same page, enabling the
Versatile Paper Handling and Finishing Capabilities
With superior paper handling features such as the ability to print 11-inch by 17-inch full-bleed, automatic trayless duplexing and a saddle stitch stapling finisher, the e-STUDIO3510c can handle any office’s most demanding jobs. The system comes standard with two 550-sheet universal cassettes that can be augmented with two additional 550-sheet cassettes or one 2,500-sheet tandem large capacity feeder. With the addition of a 100-sheet bypass, the e-STUDIO3510c has a maximum paper capacity of 3,700 sheets with up to five different paper sources.
The e-STUDIO3510c also is designed to support the most versatile color media requirements. Each paper cassette and the trayless automatic duplex unit support up to 90-pound index paper. Taking advantage of the multiple paper sources and diverse media support, the system offers customers coversheet insertion and no wait warm-up time for thick paper.
All-in-One Net-Ready Architecture and the Latest e-BRIDGE Technology
Incorporating Toshiba’s Net-Ready technology, Toshiba has built networking capabilities into the core design of the e-STUDIO3510c, delivering an out-of-the-box copy, print, scan and solution-ready device. Toshiba’s Net-Ready strategy supports communication and integration of Toshiba MFPs seamlessly into many existing business document workflows and IT infrastructures.
Integral to the Net-Ready architecture is Toshiba’s next-generation e-BRIDGE hardware platform. E-BRIDGE integrates copy, print, scan, fax and other networking capabilities into one single board within the device. This unified design shares system resources to control multiple functions and efficiently process information.
Heightened Security Features
With a comprehensive set of security features included on the e-STUDIO3510c, the product has achieved Common Criteria Evaluation Assurance Level Three (EAL3) Certification. Established by the National Information Assurance Partnership (NIAP) to evaluate information technology products for conformance to certain security standards as based upon an internationally accepted methodology, this certification ensures that the e-STUDIO3510c will meet the demands of the most security conscience customer.
Among its numerous security features, up to 1000 department codes and 10,000 user codes can be programmed into the e-STUDIO3510c to specify accessible functions and set limitations for both monochrome and color printing, scanning, and copying. The e-STUDIO3510c also touts standard 128-bit encryption. This feature encrypts all copy, print, fax and scan data as it is written to the system’s hard disk drive (HDD), rendering any data on the HDD useless if separated from the system.
Furthermore, an optional Disk Data Overwrite Kit completely overwrites all temporary information on the hard drive after every job. In addition, the disk is automatically cleared immediately after the device is done using the information after every job, preventing the data from being recovered by unauthorized users.
Other security features offered by the e-STUDIO3510c include Private Print, requiring users to input a password to initiate their printout, and Job Log, tracking print, copy, fax, and scan jobs with detailed information including user, date, time, number of pages, type of paper, and type of job.
Easy to Use Design
Designed to make even the most seemingly complex copy jobs effortless, the ergonomically designed control panel on the e-STUDIO3510c includes one touch access keys and a tilting half VGA color control panel to make it easier to see in glare and poor lighting conditions. Additionally, the 508-compliant control panel contains large, easy-to-read text and a dynamic interactive copier diagram that displays paper configurations and copier status.
Based on a new Toshiba clean sheet engine design with more than 150 patents pending, the e-STUDIO3510c is one of Toshiba’s first Easily Replaceable Unit (ERU) service-based products. The ERU design cuts down on the time taken for a service person to perform preventative maintenance and repairs, thus reducing total cost of ownership and decreasing downtime. The energy efficient e-STUDIO3510c also is Energy Star compliant and boasts Auto Energy Saver, Auto Sleep and Weekly Timer modes.
The e-STUDIO3510c, as with all e-STUDIO MFPs, is eCopy Ready, signifying that customers can use eCopy software to connect their organization's e-mail and other networked applications for low-cost, easy, instantaneous distribution, and management of scanned documents. The e-STUDIO3510c is now available through Toshiba’s nationwide network of dealers for a suggested list price of $17,449.
