In support of its ongoing and aggressive growth strategy, Toshiba Business Solutions (TBS) today announced the acquisition of three dealerships – CVI Inc., doing business as Data Imaging Solutions, in Colorado Springs, Colo.; Contact Office Solutions Inc. (COS) in Rancho Dominguez, Calif.; and Direct Office Solutions (DOS) in Cypress, Calif. The three transactions represent TBS’ 41st, 42nd and 43rd acquisitions respectively since the creation of the company’s business expansion plan, supporting the overall objective of bolstering the TBS operation by acquiring leading independent office equipment dealers.

“The acquisitions of Data Imaging Solutions, COS and DOS bring strong new talent and experience to the TBS organization,” said Wayne Wilkinson, vice president / general manager, TBS. “We are confident that the local communities served by these three organizations will benefit from these partnerships. The combination of Toshiba’s outstanding product innovations, and our newly acquired partners’ years of industry and market expertise, will provide the highest level of customer service.”

Data Imaging Solutions has been in operation since 1976. The company will be combined with the existing TBS-Colorado (TBS-CO) operation, a TBS subsidiary headquartered in Littleton, Colo. John Kouri, president of Data Imaging Solutions, has now assumed the role of president of TBS-CO.

“Partnering with Toshiba is a tremendous opportunity for Data Imaging Solutions,” said Kouri. “Our mission is to provide the highest quality products and create sound partnerships based on long-term loyalty with our customers. Toshiba’s innovative products and solutions, along with its emphasis on superior service and support, are a perfect fit for enabling us to continue to deliver on this commitment to our existing and future customers.”

COS operates from four locations serving customers from Ventura to San Diego counties. Established in 1998, the company employs nearly 100 people. Owner Richard Gomez will remain with the company and will serve as vice president and general manager of COS. After a yearlong transition period, the company will be combined with Toshiba-California/Nevada (TBS-CA/NV), a TBS subsidiary headquartered in Las Vegas.

“The entire COS team is excited to be a part of the Toshiba organization,” said Gomez. “Toshiba’s impressive leadership team clearly is focused on achieving the same goal that has long been a priority for COS – meeting the needs of our customers with industry-leading technologies. Partnering with Toshiba gives us the tools we need to achieve an even higher level of success for our company, our employees, and most importantly, our customers.”

DOS, established in October 2000, employs a staff of 10 and serves Los Angeles and Orange counties. DOS President In Kim will remain with the company and assume the role of executive vice president. DOS also will be combined with TBS-CA/NV after a yearlong transition period.

“We at DOS know that our customers have a choice when making office equipment purchases in a very crowded marketplace,” said Kim. “To ensure the best possible experience for our customers, we offer friendly service, a knowledgeable staff and the solution to fit each individual need. With the added support and backing of Toshiba, the level of assistance and expertise we can provide our customers is now stronger than ever before.”
