
TOSHIBA AMERICA BUSINESS SOLUTIONS INC. PREVIEWS 14 NEW BUSINESS-ENHANCING PRODUCTS AND SOLUTIONS AT 2006 NATIONAL DEALER MEETING

Toshiba America Business Solutions Inc. (TABS) today previewed 14 of its innovative new technologies slated for debut in the second half of 2006. Unveiled at its 2006 National Dealer Meeting, held at the St. Regis Resort in Monarch Beach, Calif., TABS’ aggressive new product roll-out schedule demonstrates its aim to provide one of the industry’s broadest range of document imaging products and solutions, and further supports the company’s commitment to increasing its customers’ business productivity and efficiency.

TABS’ previewed product offerings included the following:
e-STUDIO™360CP
The Toshiba e-STUDIO360CP is a 32 page-per-minute (PPM) full color and 36 PPM monochrome printer. With a powerful 1 GHz processor and 256 MB of standard RAM, this cost-effective business color printing solution offers a robust monthly duty cycle of up to 200,000 pages, 11-inch by 17-inch printing and optional finishing capabilities.
Not only does the e-STUDIO360CP provide speed and reliability, it also offers excellent image quality. With its 2,400 dpi image quality mode, the e-STUDIO360CP uses enhanced halftone-screening methods for improved quality over standard 600 dpi output. Ideal for corporate environments that have high volume color workgroups with ledger printing needs, the e-STUDIO360CP will begin shipping in late June.
e-STUDIO3510c
Designed for color-intensive workgroups, the e-STUDIO3510c multifunction product (MFP) offers similar running costs, performance and the same functionality as black and white multifunction systems, with a minimum hardware price premium. The e-STUDIO3510c features color output speeds of 35 PPM and monochrome output speeds of an impressive 45 PPM.
Other noteworthy features include a 99-second warm-up time, a color first copy out time (FCOT) of just 8.6 seconds, true 600 x 600 dpi output and the latest Fiery® technology. The e-STUDIO3510c will be available in August.
e-STUDIO190F
Designed for medium to large workgroups, Toshiba’s e-STUDIO190F is a versatile multifunction facsimile system with print and scan functionality. Offering speed, versatility and reliability, the e-STUDIO190F has a 2.7 second transmission speed, scans at an ultra-fast speed of just 0.7 seconds and prints at a rate of 19 PPM. A large-capacity 100-sheet document feeder, simple print driver installation, a user-friendly graphical interface and status monitoring all contribute to the e-STUDIO190F’s ease of use. The e-STUDIO190F will be offered beginning in September.
e-STUDIO4500c/5500c
The powerful e-STUDIO4500c and 5500c MFPs are highly productive, cost-effective devices capable of outputting color documents at rates of 45 and 55 PPM respectively or 60 PPM for monochrome documents. Designed to reduce outsourcing expenses and eliminate costs associated with supporting the multitude of low-volume color printers installed across the organization, the e-STUDIO4500c/5500c series is ideal for high-volume or print-for-pay environments.
True 600 dpi scanning and printing produces superior image quality, while a number of color calibration and registration technologies ensure sharp, consistent results so every page always looks its best. In addition, an enormous 7,400-sheet maximum paper capacity, a FCOT of 7.5 seconds in color and 6.5 seconds in black and white, and numerous security options make the e-STUDIO4500c and 5500c dependable assets for fast production of any business color application. TABS will be launching the e-STUDIO4500c/5500c in October.
e-STUDIO901/1101/1351
The e-STUDIO901, 1101 and 1351 are fully featured high-volume monochrome digital copiers with optional network printing and scanning capabilities. These 90, 110 and 135 PPM models respectively bring three of the industry’s strongest Segment 5 and 6 offerings to the market.
The 1,200 dpi resolution, advanced paper handling options and impressive monthly copy volumes will enable these models to satisfy the needs of the busiest departmental office users, print-on-demand customers and start-up production environments. In addition, a copy data security kit and a data overwrite security system option will meet the requirements of today’s most demanding, security conscious environments. The e-STUDIO901/1101/1351 series will be available in October.
e-STUDIO520T/600T/720T Tandem Drawer Configuration
The e-STUDIO520T/600T/720T Tandem Drawer Configuration series shares the same base specifications as the highly successful and award-winning e-STUDIO520/600/720 series, with the addition of a new drawer configuration, providing an impressive 7,600-sheet paper capacity. The devices include a standard 2,500-sheet tandem large capacity feeder (LCF), two 500-sheet universal drawers and a 100-sheet universal bypass, with the option of an external 4,000-sheet LCF.
Other highlights of the e-STUDIO520T/600T/720T Tandem Drawer Configuration series include print speeds of 52, 60 and 72 PPM respectively, 2,400 x 600 dpi output, e-BRIDGE single-board architecture and several advanced security options. Toshiba will be debuting the e-STUDIO520T/600T/720T Tandem Drawer Configuration series in October.
e-BRIDGE Development Kit
This Java-based middleware solution integrates third-party applications with Toshiba e-BRIDGE-based MFPs, offering an unprecedented degree of design flexibility. The e-BRIDGE Development Kit is designed to enable developers to take full advantage of the e-BRIDGE platform and build custom-tailored solutions that meet TABS’ customers’ needs. Introduction is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2006.
Embedded eCopy
The embedded eCopy solution provides the same functionality as the external eCopy ScanStation screen, with an easy-to-use interface operated from the MFP’s control panel. Users can control many MFPs with only one server, reducing costs and equipment installation. The easy-to-use interface of the embedded eCopy is perfect for an office workgroup environment and delivers documents securely to the correct network destination or any e-mail address selected from an address book. The embedded eCopy solution will be available in the fourth quarter of 2006.
Secure ID Card Authentication
Secure ID Card Authentication will soon be offered on all Toshiba e-BRIDGE-based MFPs allowing for quick authentication and eliminating the need to manually log-in at the device. With security taking on a top priority among many companies, TABS is committed to providing solutions that ensure data integrity and accountability going to and from the MFP device. Secure ID Card Authentication will be offered beginning in the fourth quarter of 2006.
