TOSHIBA AMERICA BUSINESS SOLUTIONS INC. CELEBRATES THE 20TH ANNIVERSARY OF ITS TONER PRODUCTS DIVISION

Toshiba America Business Solutions Inc. (TABS) today celebrates the 20th Anniversary of its Toner Products Division (TPD). Based in Mitchell, S.D., TABS-TPD is the largest of three toner manufacturing facilities owned by Toshiba. The global operation opened its doors on Oct. 3, 1986 and today supplies more than 25 percent of Toshiba’s worldwide needs for toner.
“Over the past 20 years, TABS-TPD has grown into a global economic force in the toner industry. Given our leadership position, we’re exceptionally proud of our commitment to producing high-quality toner products that are environmentally conscious, with 25 percent of our toner/developer cartridges made from recycled plastics,” said Dave Tronnes, vice president/assistant general manager for TABS-TPD. “Toshiba understands the importance of a better environment and has a strong commitment to the effective use of natural resources, reduction of energy consumption and environmental protection worldwide.”
TABS-TPD is a driving economic force in Mitchell, S.D. Year after year the company has grown more than 300 percent in manpower and the facility has doubled in size, with more than 100K square feet of additions. Most recently in 2006, TABS-TPD invested $15 million to enable color toner manufacturing – making it the only Japanese OEM toner facility in the U.S. to produce color toner – and securing the economic future of the plant for years to come. A good friend and corporate citizen of Mitchell and the State of South Dakota, TABS-TPD also has donated more than $780K to support the local schools, city, county and national landmarks.
