TOSHIBA BUSINESS SOLUTIONS-NEW ENGLAND ESTABLISHES THE “TOSHIBA DONATION PROGRAM” TO PROVIDE FREE OFFICE EQUIPMENT TO NONPROFITS

More Than 30 Local Organizations Benefit From New Initiative Within the First Two Months

IRVINE , California   ( Dec 12, 2007 ) :

Toshiba Business Solutions-New England (TBS-NE) is proud to announce the establishment of the “Toshiba Donation Program,” a local initiative benefiting nonprofit organizations.  Launched on Oct. 1, this charitable program already has provided 32 New England nonprofits with fully refurbished Toshiba printers, copiers, fax machines and other office equipment to help ameliorate daily administrative workload or marketing capabilities.

"Due to the overwhelming success that Toshiba Business Solutions has experienced in the New England market, we felt compelled to say ‘thank you’ by giving back to the community,” said Bob Hallissy, president, TBS-NE.  “This is not a one time event, but an ongoing initiative where we will continue to support the great causes throughout New England."
The pre-owned equipment in excellent condition was typically stored at a warehouse.  TBS-NE was inspired to donate the newly restored equipment as a way of communicating Toshiba’s culture of supporting the community.

Since the “Toshiba Donation Program” was first announced, a variety of nonprofit organizations have received equipment including the New England Shelter for Homeless Veterans, the nation’s first and largest veteran-specific homeless shelter, and A Little Easier Recovery, an organization that provides support to breast cancer patients as they undergo breast cancer treatment and recovery.

“The people at Toshiba are fantastic—they were really helpful in matching our shelter with the perfect machine to fit our printing needs,” said Vinnie Maloney, vice president, Facilities and Operations, New England Shelter for Homeless Veterans.  “Not only has the Toshiba copier we received streamlined our office capabilities, but most importantly, it has improved our bottom line, allowing us to allocate more dollars to our programs and fewer dollars to administrative costs.”
Prior to receiving a Toshiba e-STUDIO™4500c multifunction machine, the New England Shelter for Homeless Veterans leased equipment that cost the organization thousands of dollars to keep and maintain.

“It is wonderful that Toshiba is giving back to nonprofits through this excellent program,” said Maureen Cardinal, program manager, A Little Easier Recovery.  “The ‘Toshiba Donation Program’ will be so helpful to the many nonprofit organizations in the New England area that operate on shoestring budgets.”
The eligibility requirement for the “Toshiba Donation Program” is an existing 501(c)(3) status in the New England area.  Eligible nonprofit organizations can apply for the free, refurbished Toshiba machines, with distribution being on a first come, first served basis, and contingent on the availability of equipment.
For more information on the “Toshiba Donation Program” in TBS-NE, or if your nonprofit organization would like to be considered, please fax proof of your 501(c)(3) status to 978-988-9465, accompanied with a cover letter that includes your organization’s contact information.
