TOSHIBA AMERICA BUSINESS SOLUTIONS INC. OFFERS NEW VERSION OF RE-RITE™ SOFTWARE FOR ALL E-STUDIO™ MULTIFUNCTION PRODUCTS

New Software Offers Workplace Efficiencies for Converting Hardcopy Documents into Electronic Files

IRVINE , California   ( Feb 26, 2007 ) :

Toshiba America Business Solutions Inc. (TABS) today announced the availability of a new version of its exclusive, enhanced scanning software, Re-Rite™ for its e-STUDIO™ multifunction products (MFPs) used for converting hardcopy documents into electronic files.  The Re-Rite software version 6.0 software includes robust new features such as unlimited batch processing, flexible file naming, enhanced scanning and the ability to capture documents via email for conversion.

“Toshiba is committed to offering the latest technology to its dealers and providing businesses with new ways of managing their printing and copying needs,” said Steve Rhorer, vice president, Marketing, TABS.  “We’ve listened to the needs of our customers and developed unique new features with this software version that will give our dealers a competitive edge when selling our products.”

Streamlining Efficiency in Busy Office Environments

The Re-Rite software version 6.0 is aimed at increasing efficiency in office environments.  With this new version there is no limit to the number of optical character recognition (OCR) conversion processes that can be set-up for use by an organization.  This gives large offices the ability to set-up unique parameters for capture, conversion and delivery of electronic data with no limits on the number of processes, making it flexible and adaptable to any corporate setting.  In addition, the improved flexible file naming feature makes it easy to organize and store massive amounts of converted files.  The capabilities of the new Re-Rite software also extend the scanning features and benefits of the e-STUDIO capabilities for increased functionality and efficiency.

Offering even greater flexibility and more end user options for accessing the Re-Rite software, version 6.0 can now intercept electronic documents sent via email and convert them to one of 17 different searchable file formats such as Microsoft Word, Word Perfect, Microsoft Excel, or Microsoft eBook.  Once converted, Re-Rite can route documents to another destination such as an email address, shared network folder or FTP site, helping further automate business processes and streamline document intensive workflows.

The new software also allows dealers to identify how many total pages have been scanned in order to keep track of charges and help gauge automatic document feeder usage.  This is important for monitoring profitability of an account and improving customer service in case an additional server is needed.

Toshiba’s Re-Rite software is now available through Toshiba’s nationwide network of dealers.  The software is sold as a single license and is accessible by multiple users with no certification required to sell or service it.  To find the authorized Toshiba dealer nearest you, go to www.copiers.toshiba.com.
