TOSHIBA BUSINESS SOLUTIONS CONTINUES ITS GROWTH STRATEGY WITH 47th AND 48TH DEALER ACQUISITIONS
Latest Dealer Acquisitions Strengthen Toshiba’s Presence in Nations’ Largest Markets – New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania
IRVINE , California ( Mar 31, 2007 ) :
Further growing its nationwide network of wholly owned subsidiary operations, Toshiba Business Solutions (TBS) today announced the acquisition of two East Coast dealerships – Northern Business Systems, L.L.C. (NBS) and Engle Business Systems, L.L.C. (EBS). The two transactions represent TBS’ 47th and 48th dealer acquisitions since the inception of the company’s business expansion plan, supporting the overall objective of bolstering the TBS operation by acquiring leading independent dealers in key strategic markets, including New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
“The acquisitions of NBS and EBS provide TBS with vital scale in key markets and once combined with our existing regional operation, Candle Business Systems, dba Toshiba Business Solutions-NY/NJ, it will create a dominant presence for TBS in the New York/New Jersey area," said Wayne Wilkinson, vice president/general manager, TBS. “These acquisitions will bring additional revenue and operational scale to our existing subsidiary, and are the first step toward TBS continuing to aggressively grow its business in the largest market in the United States.”
Headquartered in Mahwah, N.J. and Elizabethtown, Pa. respectively, NBS and EBS operate from eight locations throughout New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania under the leadership of president, Gene McGillycuddy. NBS employs 94 people and has been in business for 74 years, and EBS employs 93 people and has been in business for 5 years. Effective April 1, McGillycuddy will become the president of the combined organization overseeing both TBS-NY/NJ, as well as NBS/EBS. Kevin Engle will be the vice president/general manager of EBS and Jim Coler will remain the vice president/general manager of the New York/New Jersey market.
“NBS and EBS have excellent, established reputations in Pennsylvania, New York and New Jersey,” said McGillycuddy. “We are proud to align ourselves with TBS, a market leader that supports the tradition of excellence we’ve built and maintained throughout the years.”
