TOSHIBA AMERICA BUSINESS SOLUTIONS INC. OFFERS USERS FREE MICROSOFT VISTA UPGRADE FOR CURRENT EQUIPMENT

In Show of Commitment to Unrivaled Customer Service, All Toshiba Users Receive Complimentary Vista Technology Upgrades on Current Products

IRVINE , California   ( May 02, 2007 ) :

Demonstrating its ongoing commitment to delivering unparalleled customer service, Toshiba America Business Solutions Inc. (TABS) today announced that it is offering all users free upgrades on TABS devices, including integrated Microsoft Vista support, advanced network functionality and enhanced security for the e-STUDIO™202L/232/282, e-STUDIO352/452, e-STUDIO520/600/720, e-STUDIO520T/600T/720T, e-STUDIO850 and e-STUDIO281c/351c/451c series multifunction products (MFPs) and monochrome products.

“TABS continually strives to provide its customers with world-class customer service and the latest technologies, so it was a logical next-step for us to offer complimentary Microsoft Vista Environment upgrades to all users,” said Mark Mathews, vice president and general manager, TABS. “Technology never remains stagnant and Windows Vista is the next evolution of Microsoft operating systems. It’s imperative we enable Toshiba users to stay current with technology when and where they need it.”

With the Windows Vista upgrades, users will receive advanced network features including the IPv6 “Next Generation” Internet protocol; user management that doesn’t require the use of department codes; a new print driver user interface; image overlay in “Copy” mode for the e-STUDIO520/600/720/850 and e-STUDIO520T/600T/720T series; remote Ping and Traceroute capabilities from LCD; and a remote reboot feature via TopAccess.

The integrated Microsoft Vista support includes Web Services Print, which is integrated into devices so users can simply access the point-and-click function to easily find devices on the network when using Vista. The printing feature is upgraded with certified Vista drivers, and the Web Services Push Scan enables users to scan documents directly to the desktop via the Vista Fax and Scan Application.

For enhanced security, when users employ the Network Scanning and Scan-to-Email functions, the Secure PDF feature – which is based on Adobe Acrobat PDF security guidelines – allows them to send encrypted PDF documents that require recipients/end-users to have a password in order to access. And, the Role-Based Access feature secures devices so unauthorized users don’t have access to all machine functionalities. Network administrators actually assign functionality restrictions to employees who are only allowed access to their assigned features once entering their username and password. To receive the complimentary Microsoft Vista upgrade, users should contact their authorized Toshiba dealer to schedule an appointment.
