TOSHIBA AMERICA BUSINESS SOLUTIONS INC. PREVIEWS ITS EXCLUSIVE E-BRIDGE RE-SEARCH™ SOFTWARE FOR E-STUDIO™ MULTIFUNCTION PRODUCTS
Sneak Peek at Revolutionary E-Discovery Data Management Software Offers One-Stop Business Solution for Federal Rules of Civil Procedures Compliance
BALTIMORE , MD ( Oct 08, 2007 ) :
Toshiba America Business Solutions Inc. (TABS) today previewed its exclusive e-BRIDGE Re-Search™ e-discovery data management solution at ARMA International's 2007 Conference and Expo. The e-BRIDGE Re-Search software was co-developed by TABS and BlackBall, and is the first unified cross-platform data management system to provide businesses with the ability to automatically index, track and recall archived documents with a single software solution. This easy-to-use and intuitive
e-discovery solution brings businesses to 100 percent compliance with the Dec. 1, 2006 amendments to the Federal Rules of Civil Procedures (FRCP). The e-BRIDGE Re-Search solution will be on display for demonstration at the ARMA Conference and Expo, booth No. 201, in the Main Hall of The Baltimore Convention Center, Oct. 7-10.
“Toshiba is excited to preview this proprietary software solution at this year’s ARMA Conference and Expo,” said Michael Szot, senior product manager, Solutions, TABS. “This Toshiba-exclusive software solution empowers businesses with an efficient approach to
e-discovery data management, one that leverages existing hardware, and does not rely on a dedicated staff, specialized equipment or costly services. This revolutionary solution can call up data efficiently and accurately from existing company records without a significant investment in hardware or training. Managing the data in place within a company’s existing security infrastructure makes FRCP compliance much easier and less traumatic.”
Robust Automated Records Management Platform
Developed exclusively for the Toshiba e-STUDIO™ multifunction product (MFP)
family, the e-BRIDGE Re-Search software removes the need for a company to individually key search tags or parameters on files as they are scanned or stored on the network—saving time, resources and the company’s bottom line. Once a new document is scanned and saved on the network, the program indexes the contents of the document into searchable metadata in real time, delivering accurate and unique tags to help create faster, more accurate search results. The e-BRIDGE Re-Search software solution uses search engine technology integrated into a file management system and unstructured database, delivering a unique and intuitive solution for finding data anywhere on a network while simultaneously identifying relationships between different sets of data.
FRCP Compliance As Software, Not As a Service
The e-BRIDGE Re-Search solution specifically addresses the practical changes made to e-discovery rules pertaining to requests for production of electronic records, requiring companies to retrieve electronic documentation, as well as show how data is stored within their existing networks. Through using the e-BRIDGE Re-Search solution, businesses can manage all information recalled through a legal discovery process in-house, without the need to resort to highly specialized services-based legal firms. The solution dramatically reduces the most costly and time-intensive part of the discovery process, and manages the information in-place without disrupting users workflows.
Storing, Searching and Retrieving Digital and Hard Copy Records
When used in combination with e-STUDIO MFPs and Toshiba’s e-BRIDGE
Re-Rite™ or eCopy™ programs, e-BRIDGE Re-Search enables streamlined e-discovery for storing and managing both hard copy and electronically-stored forms of information. The e-BRIDGE Re-Search software offers users an intuitive search interface with multiple keyword search options, including file name, file type, metadata field or the contents of the individual document. The solution supports all file formats with optimized data extraction for multiple file formats, including e-mail, HTML, Microsoft® Office applications, PDF, image files, sound files and even video files, allowing any type of data to be easily searched. The result is a complete, comprehensive solution for managing the entire breadth of a company’s information.
Leveraging Existing Network Security Infrastructure
The e-BRIDGE Re-Search e-discovery data management software is designed to leverage a company’s existing network security model, eliminating the need for IT to manage yet another security system. The solution’s initial scanning reaches every corner of a business’ network, regardless of operating system or hardware platform, gathering and indexing all existing information. This decentralized structure allows companies to manage data where it resides, without disrupting the current workflow or productivity. Additionally, the e-BRIDGE Re-Search checks users’ search queries against the existing network security settings, ensuring users can only see the search results they are authorized to view.
Toshiba’s e-BRIDGE Re-Search software is scheduled to be available through Toshiba’s nationwide network of dealers in November, 2007. To find an authorized Toshiba dealer nearest you, go to www.copiers.toshiba.com.
