IRVINE , California   ( Mar 25, 2008 ) :

Toshiba America Business Solutions Inc. (TABS) announced today the successful completion of its 2008 National Dealer Meeting.  Held at the Four Seasons Aviara in North San Diego, Calif. from March 3 to March 5, the annual meeting featured the theme “Deliver the Difference.”  More than 550 attendees cheered as company executives, led by President and COO Mark Mathews, unveiled TABS’ new color product family based on a newly-developed technology platform.  Additional introductions included open platform architecture support for the next-generation e-BRIDGE controller, upgraded monochrome product lines, and new software solutions, value-add partnerships and service-oriented programs.

“Toshiba’s National Dealer Meeting affords us the opportunity to not only showcase our new and upcoming products and solutions for our dealers, it also provides a setting where we can spend valuable face time and personally express our appreciation for our dealers’ valuable contribution to our organization,” said Mathews.  “Every product, solution and partnership we’ve shown or announced this week in some way relates directly back to the needs of our dealers and their customers.  It is through this relationship that TABS continues to deliver the difference with tools, education, products and services that give Toshiba dealers the competitive edge in today’s market.”

Toshiba Unveils New Technology Platform for Upcoming Color Product Offerings

Developed in-house at Toshiba to respond to the needs of today’s high-volume users, multi-user offices and lightweight production environments, the e-STUDIO™5520C/5520CT/6520C/6520CT/6530C/6530CT series of color multifunction products (MFP) was previewed at the event, and are the fastest and most advanced color product line the company has ever created.  This clean-sheet design takes a radical new approach, and will offer fast, crisp and clean color printing of up to 65 pages-per-minute (PPM).  The new Toshiba high-volume color line will feature a large, adjustable 10.4 Super VGA touch screen for quick and easy access to copying, printing, scanning, faxing and e-filing features, and a new two-part developer delivery system that automatically replenishes developer into the system as new toner is introduced, eliminating the need to install or maintain developer for the projected life of the MFP.

Also showcased at this year’s Dealer Meeting was the upcoming e-STUDIO2330C/2830C/3530C/4520C family of MFPs, bringing much of the same color printing technology from the e-STUDIO5520C/5520CT/6520C/6520CT/6530C/6530CT series to the mid-volume color segment.  The series can print full color documents and images at 23, 28, 35 and 45 PPM respectively, providing businesses with smaller output needs, the same crisp, clean prints and outstanding image quality as their high-volume counterparts.  Each product family also features integrated Windows Vista support and is equipped with the new Easily Replaceable Unit (ERU) design, allowing for improved serviceability and less downtime for end-users.

The Toshiba e-STUDIO5520C/5520CT/6520C/6520CT/6530C/6530CT and the e-STUDIO2330C/2830C/3530C/4520C MFP series are scheduled for availability in the third quarter of 2008 and May 2008, respectively, through Toshiba’s nationwide network of dealers.

Open Platform Support with Next-Generation e-BRIDGE

Hand-in-hand with the new color product family announcements, TABS further confirmed its dedication to office productivity and flexibility with the introduction of the new e-BRIDGE Open Platform and development kit.  This enhanced platform will empower Toshiba and third-party software developers to create new applications designed to work directly with the e-STUDIO family of products.  The new e-BRIDGE Open Platform is targeted for third quarter availability in 2008.

Strategic Partnerships with Industry-Leading Companies

Keeping pace with its history of innovation and market leadership, TABS detailed a number of key partnerships to help strengthen both the e-STUDIO brand of products, as well as offer dealers and end customers best-in-class hardware and software solutions.  On display in the Virtual Corporation Product Fair were working demonstrations of Toshiba’s proprietary and newly-released e-Discovery search tool, e-BRIDGE Re-Search, as well as scanning solutions with integrated MS SharePoint and MS Exchange support, and Ringdale® Inc.’s revolutionary all-in-one secure document output management solution, FollowMe®.

Fujitsu Computer Products of America Inc. joined KIP America on the show floor as the second company to offer hardware products directly through Toshiba’s nationwide network of dealers.  TABS announced that five of Fujitsu’s award-winning small-footprint, high-speed scanning products are now available through authorized Toshiba dealers.  Included in the partnership and on display were the newly-launched Fujitsu fi-6000NS Color Duplex Network Scanner with integrated touch screen and 101 keyboard for instant scan-to-file and scan-to-e-mail functionality, and the high-speed Fujitsu fi-5900C Sheet-Fed Scanner, capable of 120 PPM (simplex) and 240 image-per-minute (duplex) scanning in monochrome and color.

The underpinning theme of all the new products and partnerships announced at the meeting revolved around one common ideology:  to make TABS a complete one-stop document management solution for businesses.
