The Toshiba Classic

Toshiba is the proud title sponsor of the Toshiba Classic. This annual golf event takes place every March in Newport Beach, California and features senior players from the PGA Champions Tour. With 150 sponsors total, 1,200 volunteers and 85,000 spectators, this event produces record earnings for charity and is a well known tradition in Southern California.

The tournament is operated by Hoag Hospital Foundation, and as such, the profits from the Toshiba Classic benefit Hoag's Centers of Excellence. The tournament generates over $1,000,000 for charity annually, with its thirteen year total exceeding $13 million. In 2011, the tournament will benefit the Mary & Dick Allen Diabetes Center at Hoag. The mission of the Allen Diabetes Center is to make a difference by improving the quality of life for all people with diabetes or at risk of diabetes, through prevention, early detection, prompt care, education and support.

In addition to Hoag, tournament proceeds have also been contributed to more than 45 other charities. The Toshiba Classic Scholarship Program has provided over $209,000 in scholarships and support to local schools and over $400,000 worth of Toshiba laptops to deserving local high schools and seniors.

Hendrick Motorsports

Toshiba America Business Solutions has joined forces with five time NASCAR Champion, Hendrick Motorsports (HMS) on a collaborative effort to save them time & money. Using Toshiba’s Encompass Document Analysis program,  areas of inefficiency were identified. Toshiba then streamlined the company’s business processes by (1) incorporating Toshiba e-STUDIO multifuction devices as well as enhanced digital scanning features using Toshiba ReRite software, (2) providing managed document services, and  (3) implementing a Close the Loop recycling program. Cost savings in the first year alone were over $110,000.

Toshiba currently manages approximately 150 networked and desktop document processing systems, spread across the 130-acre HMS campus, a 600,000 square foot facility, supporting over 500 employees.  Toshiba’s systems and services support all of the daily document processing activities within accounting, administration, manufacturing, engineering, marketing, sales, human resources, as well as e-Commerce.

Toshiba’s success at Hendrick Motorsports (HMS) is now being presented as a 'proven process' for the 80+ nationwide Hendrick Automotive Group dealerships & collision centers, as well as HMS business partners such as Lowes, Pepsi, Go Daddy, National Guard & others.
