R. Steven Tungate

Vice President and General Manager, Strategic Business Planning & Supply Chain Management

R. Steven Tungate is responsible for implementing and leading the company’s strategic direction, and enhancing and improving the Supply Chain Management organization. In this role, he is charged with efficiently managing TABS’ complex supply chain, which includes procurement, import/export, inventory control, transportation, customer service and distribution.  

Tungate joined Toshiba America Business Solutions Inc. (TABS) in 2006 as the vice president, Strategic Business Planning. Prior to joining TABS, he served as executive vice president, Supply Chain and Service at Danka Office Imaging, and president of the company’s wholly-owned subsidiary, ImageOne, Inc. 

His successful leadership at Danka was featured in a Supply Chain Management Review article, “From Mess to Mastery: How Danka Rebuilt Its Supply Chain.” Prior to Danka, Tungate worked at an Internet startup company, Value America, Inc. as senior vice president, Operations, eventually assuming the role of chief executive officer in 2000. As CEO of Value America, Tungate led the sale of the company to Merisel, Inc., a distributor of information technology and software.

He earned his M.B.A. with emphasis in Material and Logistics Management from Michigan State University in 1983. Post graduation, Tungate worked at IBM Corp. for more than 15 years and during his tenure, held successive management positions in a number of functional disciplines and divisions, including leadership within the IBM Personal Systems Division.
